The opener as an Elemental Shaman depends heavily on talents as well as the amount of targets.

For the most single target general Build in BfD:

ER - TM - SW - MotE - NG (WrT on Jaina for example) - IF - SK,

my opener looks like:

Precasting Stormkeeper to get the CD rolling followed up by TM 3 Seconds before pull -> Potion -> LvB -> FS -> FE -> LB -> IF -> second LvB followed by the second empowered LB to maximize MotE (which leads us to the crucial mechanic to be aware of, further explained in the rotation segment)

The core mechanic with this build is utilizing MotE which requires awareness of LvB CD, IP procs as well as Maelstrom and the cooldowns of SK and IF. You generally want your MotE buff your strongest spells and therefore use your LvBs and IP procs to empower spells after the following priority list:

Stormkeeper empowered LB
Icefury empowered Frost Shock
normal LB
normal Frost Shock (only while moving)

Taking all that into account our priority list looks like this:
(I assume always having TM up and perfect usage of FE)
FS -> SK -> empowered LB -> ES -> empowered Frost Shock -> LvB -> Icefury Frost Shock -> IF -> normal Frost Sshock while moving.

We refresh Flame Shock at 7s or below and TM at 9s or below to not miss any uptime.
Another important thing is to delay ES until we get a IP Proc or LvB gets off cd to buff it with MotE. What we don´t want is keeping it until we overcap on Maelstrom.
Further more we switch to Earthquake if we have two targets up and can guarantee the full uptime on both targets

Critical hits don´t double our damage as they do for all other classes in wow, but they amplify it by 250% which makes Crit an incredibly strong stat for Elemental Shamans.

Haste makes us cast spells faster which results in better movement (and dps ofc :D )

Versatility is a flat dmg/heal increase as well as a dmg reduction (not unimportant for progression)

Mastery gives us a chance to overload most of our dmg abilities (LB, LvB, IF, CL) which makes them strike a second time for 85% of the power and generating additional maelstrom. Unfortunately this got nerfed into oblivion and is now our worst stat by far - farewell WoD overload ;( <------ Link to current SimCraft statweights of my character

For the BoD Raid almost exclusively play:
Earthen Rage - Totem Mastery - Spirit Wolf - Master of the Elements - Nature's Guardian - Icefury - Stormkeeper.

Earthen Rage is by far the strongest talent in the 15 row except you play 3 times Natural Harmony where Elemental Blast comes in.

Totem Mastery is the go to Talent here for single Target. Aftershock is a good choice for heavy AoE Situations like M+. Totem Mastery still pulls ahead up until 4 Targets. Call the Thunder is nice for PvP to set up a nuke Combo even though i don´t really play PvP anymore.

This is a Utility Tier. I generally pick Spirit Wolf here for some extra movement (for example at Mekkatorque to carry out bombs faster) as well the dmg reduction which is nice in most intermission phases. Earth Shield is of no real Value in Raiding because the output is pretty neglectible and we don´t really make use of the 10% buff by hardcast healing anyone. Static Charge -> Pure M+ Talent (Maaaaybe worth picking on an Encounter where you need to stun AoE and a shorter cooldown).

Master of the Elements is the go to here. It enables us to empower our dmg toolkit and making our "rotation" more versatile and challenging compared to other specs.
Storm Elemental provides a massive AoE Burst (even significant in ST). Very good Choice in situations you are in need of Burst and very close to MotE in ST sims as well.

Another utility tier. Natures Guardian is the go to talent here if you don´t need Wind Rush Totem for the encounter. It´s somehow a weaker cheat death on a 45sec cooldown and decent choice in all situations. Windrushtotem is the choice for fights with heavy movement required. Some examples for Wind Rush Totem use while progression:
Jadefire - after destorying the wall to get to the Mage
Conclave - to get the raid to Paku while the winds are up
Rastakhan - In the death realm when he casts inevitable end
Jaina Intermission !

I take Icefury in this tier even though Primal Elementalist sims a little bit higher. This is due to the fact that Icefury enables us to be very mobile and therefore being able to dps when we otherwise couldn´t -> resulting in more dps by choosing Icefury over PE. Surge of Power is fun to play but overall simply not on the same level as the other two. The only situation i can imagine Surge of Power being superior in a raid is on fights like Skorpyron where you have constant AoE on 5+ Targets to generate insane amounts of Maelstrom.

Stormkeeper is the go to in this Tier. Incredibly strong 1 minute cd buffed with MotE. Insane AoE Burst. There´s simply nothing better than SK at the moment.
I think Unlimited Power will be strong as the expansion goes on though. With more stats and a Surge of Power LB Build we could mutate to a maschine gun spec with permanent Bloodlust. Sounds like fun to me - hope this happens :D
Ascendance sucks right now and is not fun to play either. Maybe interesting for sth you need to burst all 3 minutes. Not the case at the moment fortunately.

Raid Related Info

What is your opinion on sitting during progression (potentially for multiple bosses)?

English is not my first language so i don´t quite get the meaning of sitting during progression. I guess it means being benched. Correct me if i´m wrong please.

There are two reasons for being benched at bosses.
- Performance is bad which requires the benched person to up his game and get on the same performance level as the raid. If it´s not there´s actually no reason for being mad.
- Class doesn´t fit progression which is very hard to deal with especially if it´s the last boss of a raid. Blizzard kinda brought a nice solution to this problem by awarding the new "Famed Slayer" titles to not only the people who firstkill a final raidboss but also to those who come in a few weeks later for a rekill.
Even though i don´t think benching for class reasons isn´t that big of a factor for guilds in a 100-300 range because of the amount of gear they get until the last boss or potential nerfs.

In both cases raiding is a community thing and requires people to work together to be "successfull". Which means - nobody likes to be benched and as long as it´s not excessive or for understandable reasons it´s completely normal. Performance is what matters in the end.

What is your opinion on Private vs Public logging?

I actually don´t really care about logging. My experience with logging public is that you always got some people who compete more in their own rankings than they do with the guildranking. After progression is done though switching to public logs is nice to let the beast, every dd has in him somehow, out and let them compete for their ego and fun after they controled it for progression :D

Another good point i understand about private logging is that guilds are used as step up guilds. There´s always some people overperforming in a guild who attrackt "better" guilds and may leave to achieve personal goals. No guild wants to be a step up guild and lose their core players.

Background information

Please list your previous guilds and a brief reason for leaving each of them (current expansion)

Starting out in the expac i only wanted to do M+ with friends and we ended up joining Juicy Loot on Blackmoore for some "casual" (~World 700) raiding. I quickly ascended to being their healing officer but we had lots of problems with recruiting. So the Raid ended up with very different skillcaps of players. The better people got annoyed the further progression went and some quit the game or left the guild. This ended up in a vicious circle. As we had one week without a raid due to no players i decided to quit the guild and told the Guildmaster to find a replacement for me withing 3 weeks, knowing that the guild would disband if i just quick right away. (I´m not an asshole leaving people to die).
I then switched to Despite on Eredar with an old wow friend of mine. We both played there during most parts of Legion on a level of ~World 200. Something we wanted to achieve again. It all started out well with nice progression and a good community. Even though the Guild was refounded in mid Uldir Progression we still finished ~world 400 and climbed to ~250 in BfD again. Unfortunately we lost some core players who quit the game and couldn´t replace them equivalent. This resulted in dropping to ~400 with 2 weeks of wiping on Mekkatorque after we already had him on 140k 0% on day two. This crushed the ambitions of some people and our raidlead decided he not wanted to invest that much time into preparing everything for some people just not doing the same. So we disbanded 3 weeks after me rerolling to Restoshaman (I played Holy Paladin the whole expansion) to prepare for Jaina and not having anything to show.

Why have you chosen to apply to Weeping Angels?

I want to play in a world 100-200 guild and after our guild disbanded i thought about raiding on an English speaking server to get to experience something new. That´s basically how i found you guys and saw you are looking for an Elemental Shaman. Since i played Elemental through WoD and for some parts of Legion on a high level i´m absolutely convinced of being an improvement for your raid as well

I hope i could convice you guys as well. I´m well aware of the fact, that my logs are not the best at the moment (dps/hps) due to the reroll 3 weeks ago. But you can see i can concentrate over a long period of time and play try after try the same way without messing up mechanics. Dps will come with gear and some more practice.

I got a little mistake in my 15 talent row (Due to information i had on an earlier state of the expansion) that i´d like to correct right away. ER is not by far the strongest talent. You actually switch to EotE as soon as you have at least two IP Traits. Which is pretty standard right now. Sorry for that ;)
