Please tell us your opening rotation (bullet-point form or similar is fine). If you play multiple specialisations then please do this for each one
(Assuming you use 10-12s pull-timer)
Pre pull: Stomkeeper at 7s -> Totem Mastery spam from 6s-4s pull-timer (dead time)
-> on 3s i will use my Fire Elemental, prepot -> last gcd will be my lava burst at 2s, it will hit on around 0 and i will apply Flame Shock as it hits.
Pulled: So with my Stormkeeper charged and ready on around 7s left, and with a 20% increase dmg on my next nature spell, from Master of the Elements - i then proceed to use my first Lightning Bolt followed by another Lava Burst to yet again give my second Stormkeeper Lightning Bolt 20% increased dmg. When this is done i will be well around 52-62 Maelstrom (60+ is lucky). If i were to hit 60 Maelstrom i would instantly Earth Shock to empty out my Maelstrom bar - if i were at 50 Maelstrom i would use a Lava Burst first to get the 20% increase, and hit 60+ Maelstrom to cast the Earth Shock. I would as soon as my Lava Burst procs allow it, try to get my Icefury off without buffing the actual Icefury with the 20% - which can be hard because i have to spam Lava Burst when i can. However i usually get my Icefury off right after the Stormkeeper combo mentioned above. Allowing me to quickly infiltrate with 20% dmg procs from my Lava Burst procs that i can spend on my frost shocks, and most importantly Earth Shocks. (Not counting any RNG dmg procs)
Stormkeeper -> Totems -> Fire Elemental+prepot -> Lavaburst+flameshock -> Lightning Bolt -> Lava Burst -> Lightning Bolt -> Icefury -> Lava Burst -> 100 Maelstrom Earth Shock -> This is where dmg escalates depending on number of Lava Burst procs i can use to minmax Frost Shocks with. (Not counting any RNG dmg procs)
Please tell us your general rotation or priority system (bullet-point form or similar is fine). If you play multiple specialisations then please do this for each one
As elemental shaman the rotation is pretty complex but actually really simple to get around. I think i basically got described my general rotation in the box above.
Well basically with the current build it's super important to use/spam Lava Burst when you can - and preferably use the 20% dmg increase on an empowered Lightning Bolt from Stormkeeper, a empowered Frost Shock from Icefury, or an Earth Shock. You repeat Lava Burst spam to continuously keep the 20% dmg buff flowing between your spells. If i ever see a health bar on a encounter i will most likely Flame shock it (if allowed) to get more dps.
Never empower Icefury if you can avoid it.
Always refresh Totem Mastery at around 20s before they expire, to give yourself more time.
Flame Shock should always be up on Boss(es) and adds (3-4).
Empty Maelstrom bar before big potential procs to make sure i'm min-maxing dps.
Flow with the RNG.
If no CD's are up and you can do x2 Lava Burst instead of empowering a normal Lightning Bolt with 20%, then do it - Lava Burst will always be the bigger dps increase.
Even tho an encounter might be heavily movement oriented i wouldn't safe neither Stormkeeper or Icefury for specific times, not worth it unless something really needs to die.
I can keep going for a while but i will spare some space.
Please list your current stat priority (screenshots of your character profile on SimCraft/RaidBots will also suffice), and then explain the benefits of each stat for your specialisation, making sure to include any softcaps or breakpoints you are aiming for
https://gyazo.com/7b93d57a592c9609247fa6ff9b991148 With my current gear i have a little too much mastery and some vers, i aim to replace that with crit and haste. Since Versatility can't match with Crit/Haste in a raid environment as elemental, and mastery is nearly useless with the current ST build.
If i just focus on my two preferred secondary stats. Crit involves occasionally doing bonus damage, while Haste is about doing more things that cause damage. As i will increase my crit chance it means the average damage of abilities will increase, which means that the value of using more abilities also increases. The reverse also applies. So increasing the weight on one side lifts the other side up higher.
Haste and crit really goes hand in hand for elemental, both AOE and ST.
Haste will highly increase my cast-times, gdcs and make my Flame Shock(s) proc more rapidly. Having a lot of Flame Shock ticks will result in Lava Burst procs, which is my (by far) best dps spell. Haste is essential - But not without crit.
With EVERY Lava Burst i cast being a crit, and Lava Burst being my top dps spell, you can imagine how important crit would be(I have x3 Lava Burst trait). With the massive haste and all the spells coming out the crit is indispensable, allowing my Frost Shocks to crit 45k+ etc.
Mastery will increase the chance of my Frost Shock, Lightning Bolt/CL and Lava Burst to proc a second cast. It sounds really good but it's beyond terrible atm. That's why i need to get rid of the smallest mastery i have, even tho i believe having a little bit can work in certain situations.
Versatility isn't too bad in comparison to mastery, but compared to the pair Crit/Haste does, versatility is not quite a match. Tho having the "right" amount of crit/haste could allow vers to be very useful.
Please list your current talent setup, without abbreviations, detailing for each row whether the choice changes for Single Target, Cleave, and AoE
15 Row 2) Echo of the Elements - For both AOE/ST. You gotta have that 1 extra Lava Burst.
30 Row 3) Totem Mastery - For both AOE/ST. The stats are much more worth in any given scenario, than the other two more PVP and RNG minded options.
45 Row 1/3) Spirit Wolf and Static Charge. Spirit Wolf is my mostly picked talent of these two, given that the raid won't need my lower incap/stun cd.
60 Row 1) Master of the Elements - By far the best option giving the 20% dmg increase on nature and frost spells, after casting a Lava Burst. Liquid Magma Totem isn't in its prime right now, and Storm Elemental was used for the old spec before the traits was nerfed.
75 Row 1) Nature's Guardian - If the raid doesn't need my Wind Rush Totem, i will be taking the Guardian always for more safety.
90 Row 3) Icefury is the go to talent here now, with the combination of Master of the Elements this option will be the best, compared to Surge of Power which fails on moment. Primal Elementalist used to be the go to in the Storm Keeper build, before the nerf of traits.
100 Row 2) Stormkeeper is the only "viable" option right now. Ascendance isn't worth it for the current encounters and in general. Unlimited Power could be chosen i guess if you are meming hard.
This is both AOE/ST for Raid only. M+ excluded.
An important note: failure to play optimal specialisations may result in loss of raid spot/being sat. Please confirm you have acknowledged this

What is your opinion on sitting during progression (potentially for multiple bosses)?
I have played elemental shaman for more than 12 years. I am the original Lord of the Bench. I don't mind it and i know how it works.
What is your opinion on Private vs Public logging?
I don't mind either. I have gotten multiple top 10 ranks on different fights, but at times i can do bad as well of course. I have no opinion on this. Feel free to read my raider io.
Please list your previous guilds and a brief reason for leaving each of them (current expansion)
EmptyPromises TN old top100 guild got back together pre Uldir. I played elemental there and i was mostly on the bench, due to GM not being a fan of shaman. The guild disbanded 2 days before BOD because our GM wanted to pursue poker and he left us all there, no one knew anything. I then joned Tempest on Draenor. Was a pretty weird feeling since EmptyPromises was another environment than Tempest, and i could tell pretty quick. However some days ago we got to Jaina and they decided that i failed my trial. I didn't ask why. So now i am here with a little progress on Jaina left with no guild. Please ask for further information if you doubt something here.
Why have you chosen to apply to Weeping Angels?
I don't want to make this a cheesy story about how much i love all of you.
I feel like you keep it simple and somewhat controlled while still having fun, and i like that. I obvsly don't know any of you, nor the guild, however i believe i could potentially fit in - I'm so eager to find a nice group of people to play raid and play the game with, perhaps you could be it! I do like the raid times and expectations are all understandable. I would love to write some more, but i really don't want to make it cheesy as mentioned. I am sure most of you are all humble/friendly people, and so am i.
Sorry for writing Lava Burst, Earth Shock etc. Instead of the short versions. LB, ES etc. But it would've made it too complicated to read. Thank you
