I confirm that I will abide by the rules and continue to research my class and optimise my raid toon, I agree to abide by these runs, to continue to optimise my toon and keep up to date in class development.
I confirm that I am free to raid on Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday 7.15pm-11.15pm and that I can listen on Discord (preferably both listen and speak).
I confirm I have read the example application and will strive, where applicable to my class, to put in a high level of effort and depth of information into the subsequent sections of my application. Link to the example application: http://weepingangels.shivtr.com/site_applications/2059725
If there are occasional issues with attendance, please let us know here
Once a year I tend to make a skiing trip. This year I was however able to get a good laptop to bring with me to the alps and I was able to progress Krosus successfully on 3G internet.
Speedtest: Please do a speedtest on (http://www.speedtest.net/) and link us your result below.
Just before pull I'll down my Prolonged Potion, then start with applying my Murder of Crows to the target. Before the GCD is finished I'll have activated Bestial Wrath and Titan's Thunder. From there I make sure to exhaust my Dire Frenzy charges and weave in my Kill Command -> CobraShot -> Kill Command.. as provided by the Killer Cobra talent. I tend to sometimes delay Aspect of the Wild a while to make sure not too much focus is being wasted in the opener. (This might not be needed in 7.2.5 with the GCD reduction that will be added on top of Aspect of the Wild).
Please explain your rotation, if any
The BM rotation is currently very easy. It consists of keeping A Murder of Crows on cooldown(if no priority target is about to appear), as well as kill command and titan's thunder. This needs to be done whilst making sure not to cap any charges of Dire Frenzy(or dire beast if not talented) whilst making sure to utilize the Dire Frenzy charges enough to maintain the attackspeed buff on the pets, provided by the usage of Dire Frenzy. Cobra Shot is used to spend excess focus not to cap, and also to reset the cooldown of Kill Command during Bestial Wrath, which also will be used as often as possible.
Please explain your current stat priority, this includes gems, enchants & set bonusses you are currently going for
Currently I'm following a stat priority of Mastery>Agility>Haste>Crit>Versatility. However as you'll see if inspecting me, I may have some haste gems to reach a certain breakpoint. I frequently run my own simulations based on what talents I am using or upon recieving new gear to make sure I always optimize my gear as much as possible. The 4-set bonus is huge for BM and will easily take a 45%+ uptime on Bestial Wrath to 65%+, granting much more frequent use of the Killer Cobra talent. The 2-set is also worth noting, especially in conjunction with the Dire Frenzy talent, and it is not unlikely that we'll see hunters running ToS 4set + NH 2set the first weeks of progress, as the legendary shoulders effect is becoming baseline.
Please explain your current talents and glyphs, explain why you are using them, when if and why you change your talents for any current encounter:
Level 15 - Way of the Cobra. Currently scales the best for any encounter that is not fully AOE. With the legendary belt as well, Dire Stable is just going to focus cap me. Dire Stable will only be picked when huge aoe damage is required and multi shot is used more frequently, thus loosing out on the Cobra Shot bonus from Way of the Cobra.
Level 30 - Dire Frenzy. The same situation in this tier with the above. Scales well with 2-piece set bonus fron NH. Stomp will only be used when huge aoe damage is required.
Level 45 - Posthaste. Always used, most reliable, best utility and mobility.
Level 60 - Bestial Fury. Scales best currently. Provides for best bursts. Blink Strikes may be considered if huge aoe is needed.
Level 75 - Binding Shot most often, can be utilized to AOE stun moving targets. Otherwise Intimidation for a single target stun.
Level 90 A Murder of Crows is used in all situations except for heavy AOE fights. It scales well with the BM mastery (% pet damage increase). For AOE the passive cleave from Volley is chosen.
Level 100 - Killer Cobra is currently best on every single fight. The single target boost it gives is just unprecedented. There has been some players successful with Aspect of the Beast, but Killer Cobra will definitely remain the go-to choice comes Tomb considering the new setbonuses that scales even further with Killer Cobra.
With the current kill speeds, unless there's a certain AOE need, there's really no need to change any talents except for the level 75 row stun, using the binding AOE stun for lashers on Botanist and utilizing the Intimidation single target stun on the casting adds on Spellblade and Krosus.
You'll see hunters going Dire Stable, Stomp, Blink Strikes, and Volley on Skorpyron and Tichondrius. However these should only be taken if the damage on adds are tight.
Raid experience (Current and previous)
I've played World of Warcraft since about the launch of TBC, however, i only raided casually with pugs on and off throughout every expansion up until now Legion.
Before the launch of Legion i was admitted to my current guild as my first step into mythic and organized raiding. With Pixel I've cleared 7/7M EN, 2/3M ToV, and currently 8/10M NH.
With this being said I realize that my lack of experience is probably one of my most noteworthy downsides, however, realizing this it is also something i feel like I am able to compensate for with thorough research and preparation.
I understand what is required from me as a mythic raider when it comes to liability, comprehending that organized raiding requires a certain degree of seriousness(but of course being able to enjoy the activity as well), and putting the needs of the entire raid group first to be able to overcome challenges.
As mentioned above I've only raided with my current guild, Pixel - Frostmane. We've raided together since the beginning of EN.
I'm currently applying to you as I feel there is a large difference between my ambitions and commitment when it comes to raiding, and other members of the guild.
I was promoted to officer a while back as I was already helping out a lot with research and planning and it came very natural. However, in taking this position I've understood that my ambitions to improve is not shared entirely amongst the leadership and thus it seems that comes TOS this difference will remain.
Reason behind applying for Weeping Angels
I am very impressed with the rate at which you've been able to advance your rankings to where you are today, and doing so with a limited number of pulls and raiding hours. I feel like this is a place where I could improve as a player but also make contributions to the team as a whole.
I have given my current guild a two weeks notice that I'll be looking to join a new guild. This period is ending after this coming reset, should I be accepted I'll be available from the 7th of may.
I have an open application currently with Myst on your server. It being on Draenor is completely coincidental. However I am applying to you as I understand their roster size is very large currently, and whilst they could definitely need a Hunter, and I obviously understand the need of certain compositions and the importance of everyone being able to sit out on certain bosses, I am looking to prove myself worthy of taking a stable position in an equally minded roster, where maybe there's a bigger posibility of keeping a more tightly knit team.
I am competely convinced that you can tell a lot about another person depending on their taste in chips. Now I am not a psychologist or anything, in fact i study computer science, so I don't know what specifically you really could tell, but there sure has to be some sort of connection. Personally i like neutral, lightly salted with tons of dip.
Also, on the sample application there was another question, and since I already answered it, I'll just add it here: "Describe what sets you apart from others of your class. How do you go above and beyond other players; what distinguishes your playstyle:"
If I would say anything about myself as a raider it's not that I'm able to achieve good rankings, but rather being able to perform well consistently both on progression and farm, whilst also having a large focus on making sure mechanics are executed properly and volunteering to handle any specifics.
I want to play to my strengths as a hunter and to me my biggest strength is being able to reduce the inpact of other classes weaknesses through doing the dirty work they'd rather not handle.
I make sure to read a lot of contributions made to the mmo-champion hunter subforum, and also the Trueshot Lodge Discord. I do however make sure to run my own simulations whenever any balance changes occur or upon receiving new gear to make sure that I am making correct decisions regarding statweights, talent choices and legendaries.
By doing this I feel like i often have an early advantage as I don't have to watch logs from others to base my decisions.
In doing this I can discover meta-changes early and be able to adapt to changes before they are mainstream. This will be very important at the start of a new tier or whenever balance changes goes through.
Write any additional information you feel you need to tell in your apply
See separate section on question above. Answered there for formating :) Thank you for reading!
